Tyre brand presents comfortable racing tyre and ‘best of both worlds’ MTB tyres
The 21st edition of Eurobike will take place in Friedrichshafen, Germany, from 29 August to 1 September. Vredestein will use the exhibition as a vehicle to showcase its latest product news about the new 2013 range, which includes a wider size of the Fortezza TriComp and no less than four MTB tyres in size 650b. For recreational cyclists, the tyre brand’s 2013 range offers Vredestein’s first-ever all-season tyre: The Perfect 4 Seasons.
Fortezza TriComp: More millimetres, more comfort
Although it may seem contradictory, even professionals require some comfort while cycling. As frames and rims become increasingly stiff, the only way left to enhance comfort is to develop better tyres. With the arrival of the slightly wider Fortezza TriComp – 25 mm instead of the usual 23 mm – Vredestein aims to provide demanding cyclists with a solution.
650b: The best of both worlds
In addition to pressure, tread and width, the characteristics of MTB tyres are also determined by their diameter. A larger diameter ensures a lower rolling resistance, better grip and increased comfort. Last year Vredestein introduced a tyre size in line with this principle, the 29er. In order to offer people who are too small for 29er mountain bikes the benefits of a larger tyre diameter, Vredestein’s 2013 range now includes four products in size 650b (27.5”). This old French size falls between the standard size 26” and 29ers, and therefore offers the best of both worlds. As of 2013, size 650b will be available in the following treads: Spotted Cat, Black Panther, Black Panther xtrac and Black Panther xtreme.
Based on the successful introduction of its 29ers in 2012, Vredestein’s 2013 range will also include the Black Panther xtrac in that size, both in Tube Type and in Tubeless Ready formats. The Desert Wolf will also be available as a rigid 29er as of 2013.
Butyl Lite inner tubes for racing and mountain bikes
In addition to the existing Butyl and Latex Superlite inner tubes, Vredestein is introducing Butyl Lite tubes for racing and mountain bikes. The MTB tubes have a weight of 135 and 145 grams respectively, while the racing tubes only weigh 70 grams. Check out ourcatalogue for detailed specifications.
Four seasons of perfect grip with the Perfect 4 Seasons
While an increasing number of car drivers choose winter tyres during the colder, wetter months, cyclists seem to prefer a single tyre type to use throughout the year. This is now possible with the introduction of the Vredestein Perfect 4 Seasons. Due to the new AWS compound, which is based on Vredestein’s experience with all-season car tyres, this new tyre offers excellent grip in all conditions.
The tread of the Perfect 4 Seasons was designed to ensure excellent performance even in winter conditions. The outer row of knobs, with a special sipe structure, provides extra grip. The spacing, which is set at increasing intervals between the knobs toward the outside of the tyre, offers superior mud-shedding capacity and helps the tyre to move effortlessly through snow and slush.
The Perfect 4 Seasons is ECE-R75 approved, and can therefore be used on e-bikes with speeds up to 50 kilometres per hour. The Perfect xtreme and Perfect E also now carry the ECE-R75 approval.
Expansion Perfect xtreme size range
Punctures are one of the greatest annoyances to cyclists. The Perfect xtreme with a double anti-puncture system is Vredestein’s ultimate solution to this common problem. In 2013, the size range of the successful tyre (previously only available in 37-622) will be expanded with size 47-559.
Vredestein at Eurobike
