ATLANTA, GA November 1, 2023 – As the Official Tire Partner of the 1000 Miglia, Vredestein Tires will participate in the fourth edition of the 1000 Miglia Warm Up USA, which kicks off with a training day on November 1, followed by three days of rallying from November 2 to November 4, 2023.

The Warm Up acclimates driver teams to the techniques endemic to traditional Italian-style regularity (time-speed-distance) races ahead of participation in the full 1000 Miglia, which takes place in Brescia, Italy in June 2024.

The 1000 Miglia Warm Up USA covers 800 total kilometers across three days of competition, starting in Middleburg, VA, and concluding in the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., at the Italian embassy.

“We are once again thrilled to be the Official Tire Partner of the 1000 Miglia and look forward to participating in Warm Up USA in a pair of vehicles piloted by our special guests,” said Abhishek Bisht, Assistant Vice President, Americas, Apollo Tyres Ltd. “The vintage cars that our teams will pilot throughout the week are fitted with Vredestein Sprint+ tires, helping them to maintain the period-correct appearance that is so important in the 1000 Miglia while delivering all the capability of a modern performance tire.”

Co-piloting their 1965 Volvo Amazon 122S are Chris and Jeffery Mason. Chris is the founder and CEO of DLC productions, which produces films and photography about racing and rallying. Jeff is an executive producer at DLC Productions. The Masons are both active in The Piston Foundation, a public charity dedicated to education and training for young people looking to build careers as automotive restoration technicians. Jeff is the foundation’s president and chief operating officer, while Chris helps to run its Cars for Piston Scholars Program.

The Masons’ rally team, Driving La Carrera, has completed the iconic Mexican rally race, the Carrera Panamericana, three times in the last five years, collecting numerous stage podiums, a class podium, and a 27th overall finish. The team’s Mexican rally exploits are why their Volvo is affectionately named the “Mzcalero,” easily identifiable, thanks to the official New York. state vanity license plate it wears. Team Vredestein’s second entry is a Porsche 911 Carrera co-piloted by its owner, California-based writer, actor, and content creator Michael Gideon, and his driving partner, Los Angeles-based professional automotive photographer Huseyin Erturk. Michael Gideon’s passion for sports, vintage automobiles, and motorcycles is evident in the comedy shorts he shares with his enthusiastic audience on Instagram at @mgideon_.

Huseyn Erturk’s enthusiasm for cars became an all-encompassing passion when he moved to Los Angeles and was exposed to its rich and diverse automotive culture. Inspired by masters of the art form such as Stephen Shore and William Eggleston, Huseyin started photographing interesting cars he saw on the streets in LA. Today, he is one of the most respected professional automotive photographers, with a roster of clients that includes the world’s best automakers and a variety of influential editorial outlets. One can follow his work on Instagram at @huseyinerturk.

Both Team Vredestein’s vehicle entries will compete in the Post 1000 Miglia Era category, including sports, GT, and supercars manufactured from 1958 to the present.
